Though I would have loved it to be revealed that Brad was a massive fanboy of the aforementioned sassy singer (because, c’mon, how perfectly dorky would that be?), I was both relieved and riveted when it was revealed that the JoJo he was caught up in was a manga series created by the legendary Hirohiko Araki, developed into an anime series. Thankfully for me, I wasn’t lost in translation for too long bit by bit - or rather, JoJo gif by JoJo gif in the Geek Bomb group chat - my interest was piqued. The first mention of it left me with a handful of questions: “Who is JoJo? Is he talking about the American pop singer from the mid-2000s known best for the iconic banger that was ‘Leave (Get Out)’? Will I ever understand this boy and the things he speaks so passionately about, or is the Aussie-American ‘language’ barrier too monumental to overcome?” (Seriously, mention JoJo and he will marry you yesterday - or at least link you a bunch o’ JoJo memes, and you’ll giggle like goofs together.) And when I joined the Bomb Squad in late March of this year, one of my very first impressions of Brad surrounded this title. If any of you are at all familiar with Geek Bomb’s games guy Brad Weston, you know that he is absolutely obsessed with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. After all, most good love stories detail the “meet cute” before diving into the ooey-gooey parts, before taking a peek at the heart. But before I can lay it all out fully, I’ll take a step back and paint you all the incepting picture.

Just a few hours ago, the series’ fourth part, Diamond is Unbreakable, aired its finale episode - and suffice it to say that I am threatening explosion with all the emotions I’ve got inside me. My adoration for the weird, wacky anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure started simply, when I first joined the Bomb Squad, and evolved into something bigger than myself.
